The boat

A boat with a forced name: Mediterranea.

A 60-foot ketch, as slow and sturdy as prudent, tough and strong the sailor in the Mediterranean must be, because the Mediterranean is a difficult sea to be navigated, a sea that does not allow arrogance and impatience.

A Mikado, designed by the great Michel Bigoin (who designed also the legendary Pen Duick V with Eric Tabarly), built and launched in 1980 by Constructions Nautiques du Sud-Ouest (CNSO), one of the most important sailing shipyards in that period. A big boat, well furnished with spaces and all the equipment necessary and suitable for a long journey. A comfortable and spacious boat, having great maritime qualities, ideal for a difficult and ambitious project. After the works to further increase and reinforce the equipment, Mediterranea will start her big route in Spring 2014.
